BorTec GmbH is a young company with a thirty year old tradition. This tradition started in 1968 with the formation of the boronizing department of the Elektroschmelzwerk Kempten GmbH. Subject of this department was development and production of boronizing agents which were distributed world wide under the well known brand name EKabor TM.
In 1988 this business activity was also expanded onto the field of service treatment. Since then we offer service boronizing and other treatments such as chromizing and alitizing.
In 1998 the management of Elektroschmelzwerk Kempten GmbH decided to discontinue the activities of the diffusion process/boronizing business and hand it over to the long-serving and valued employees, Dr. Hans-Joerg Hunger and Wolfgang Vogel. They have taken over this business in a management buy-out and have been setting up the new company, BorTec GmbH, to continue with the entire spectrum of boronizing activities as from January 1, 1999.
